URDB Valentine’s Day Challenge

Is your girlfriend/wife named Kristi? Do you know anyone who has a girlfriend/wife named Kristi? If anyone out there can beat this world record for Most Times Saying “I Love You Kristi” In 39 Seconds (49) by Monday, we’ll post a video of everyone at URDB HQ doing the Chicken Dance. Good luck, and remember: URDB loves you.

It’s confirmed—this blog post holds the official URDB World Record for Most Notes On A Single Tumblr Post. Congrats to Benjamin on a rad concept and extremely impressive feat. Will anyone out there try and beat it?

What Would You Do with a URDB API?

Text

Yo, webby types! We’re in the midst of pulling together specs for a public API.

We have a ton of ideas of for potential uses – video game high score submissions, enabling record holder widgets, etc. but wanted to to reach out and see if there are features you’re dreaming of we haven’t already considered.

Feel free to email the team directly at hello AT urdb DOT org, or you can get in touch via the wiki: http://sites.google.com/site/urdbwiki/home/api-rfc

Web on, webbies!

Congrats on a great feat, Jeff. To the rest of you: beat this record!

jeffrubinjeffrubin:

Here it is - my world record run at “Most Trivial Pursuit 90’s Edition ‘Wired’ Questions Answered Out a Shuffled Deck in 60 Seconds.”

We did several attempts before we got one I was happy with, but I decided to put them all online anyway. If you just want to see the record setting 15-question run you can go the record’s home on the Universal Record Database site or skip to about 4:20 in the video above.

I’m still bummed I didn’t get to do this live at last week’s fundraising URDB live show, so here’s what I’m going to do. If someone beats my record in the next 90 days, I will donate $100 to the charity of their choice ($50 will come from me, $50 will come from my employers’ generous matching gift policy). I’m a big nerd but I’m by no means the biggest, and I’m sure someone else watching this knew most of those answers. The URDB website has a FAQ that explains exactly how to submit your record. If you’re somehow still interested in reading more, I explained my strategy in the description on Vimeo. Good luck!

Thanks again to everyone that helped, especially Amir who set a simultaneous record for “Most Trivial Pursuit 90’s Edition ‘Wired’ Questions Asked Out a Shuffled Deck in 60 Seconds.”
