FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
ScottsBigToDoList.com (Press Release) – Nov 09, 2009 – A North Texas man has announced his plans to break a World Record held by his favorite celebrity.
Patrick Scott Patterson, a 34-year-old husband and father of two in Denton, TX, has announced plans to break the Universal Record Database World Record for “Most Pies Smashed in Strangers Faces in 30 Seconds While On Roller Skates”, a record held by actress Drew Barrymore, set on an early October episode of Late Night With Jimmy Fallon.
Patterson is no stranger to aiming for lofty goals. A World Record video gamer, business owner, and former professional wrestler, Patterson has began to document his quests to accomplish all the things he always wanted to try as part of an web project called Scott’s Big To-Do List where he lists his already accomplished goals, the things he still wishes to do, and posts online episodes to update users of the website on his progress. A Facebook fan page for this project gained nearly 200 fans within its first few weeks.
It was failing to meet Barrymore during her promotional trip through Dallas that sparked Patterson into trying to be more proactive in aiming for his goals, and re-watching a film where someone aimed to meet her inspired him to start filming it all.
“I was inspired to kick things into high gear,” Patterson said, “and inspired to document it for others to see from this point foward, so that maybe it can inspire others to aim for things in their lives, too. Everyone has dreams.”
With the pie-smashing stunt, Patterson hopes to gain the attention of Barrymore so he can finally get to meet the lifelong Hollywood star that has served as an inspiration to him for 26 years.
“I’ve met dozens of celebrities; it doesn’t phase me. They are just people, too.” Patterson stated. “I’ve always felt inspired by Drew’s ‘go for it’ way of life, and her positive spirit, and that’s a big part of what has always driven me to aim for my own goals in life. I don’t care about the celebrity, I’m inspired by the person, and who doesn’t want to meet someone who can spark that in people?”
Patterson has been in discussions with the Universal Record Database in preparation for this attempt, which Patterson is preparing for by attempting to re-learn how to roller skate, an activity he did for much of his youth.
No date has been set for the record attempt, though Patterson stated that he would like to set it up between Thanksgiving and Christmas.
